A question would lavender like promix aka peat moss or coco coir.
I have not tried coco coir but mine were grown in peat moss and I have never had any problem with it.
August 24th, eh around that fall weather. Im going to be growing white ice snd i really want to save that seed.
Best wishes!
my new delphinium planted a week ago and watered regularly in the evening already looks sorry fot itself. how can i revive ? Thank you
I can only give you general advice without seeing it. 1) Dont let it dry out or over water (wet soil will drown the roots - they need some air). 2) Shade from direct sunlight until the roots have established and they are able to get water and nutrients to the leafs. Best wishes and good luck.
@LearnHow2 thank you that's good to know we have been watering quite a lot during this heat but will reduce . Its in a semi shaded spot. Appreciate your advice. Best wishes
Copper tap does work. But if you’re dealing with a longer slug like that, you need more layers of tape. Also, in agreeing with other comments, you should’ve left the slug a way out of the copper square so you could see if it at least preferred the non-copper path.
Thank you for your comment. Do you have experience of copper tape working? what was your set up. I have repeated the experiment in this video ruclips.net/video/nfplndeN3P8/видео.html trying to make it more like a real life plant pot situation -- and it still fails! Best wishes.
Thank you for this video!
Thank you too! Best wishes.
They will germinate quicker if you place the seeds on a moist towel in a small tin with a lid. Had ours germinate in less than a week. Just remember all parts of the plant including the seeds are POISONOUS to pets and keep the kids away!
Thank you for your tip. I will try that next year.
Great vid. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the help. A misprint on the instructions of my one said to lay it down horizontally, I was very confused.
Glad I could help!
Will try,
All the best!
Great video just subscribed QUESTION PLES A I’ve got some plugs I potted on , I want to transfer to a wild meadow with very long grass should I do it now ( July ) or try and grow more first
I would wait. The tall grass will deprive the smaller plant of light and nutrients.
@@LearnHow2 thank you so much ❤️
Thank you! Can't wait to do with my grandson!
That's so good to hear! I love it when children take an interest in gardening.
Okay, step 9. My apple tree is about 17in high, but it is just growing one branch straight up. Is that normal? Or do I clip it somewhere on the plant to brach out more branches?
Generally with most plants, cutting out the growing tip promotes side shoots.
Probably need to cut tape into two strips so slug needs to be connecting both bands when crossing. Better still, one strip use copper tape, other strip use aluminium tape.
I've tried the two tape method - see my video ruclips.net/video/nfplndeN3P8/видео.html
@@LearnHow2 Hmmm, thanks. I've been using physical barriers to deter slugs and snails so far. One simple solution is to place the plant pot on top of an upside down plant pot. That means twice as much time to catch them before any damage gets done. Another solution comes to mind, though I've not yet tried it,. . . the two tape method, combined with a repurposed solar garden light. The bulb removed and + and - terminals wired to each of the two copper bands. That's a harmless 1.5 volts. Might be just enough to deter slug from crossing. So far, I don't have enough of a slug issue to try this experiment.
TYVM so informative. Can't wait to try this. God Bless
you are most welcome.
Thanx So Much!
You're welcome!
Very low quality voice
Sorry about that. I had trouble recording sound at the time.
How long does it take for them to get that big?
About 3 or 4 months.
CAN I START THEM IN A BAGGIE WITH DAMP PAPER TOWEL??!!!!!
I have not tried this so I cant advise you - I would not want to give you incorrect info.
Do you put them in the dark?? When you start them should you keep them in the same place ??
No. I kept mine in a bright warm room but out of direct sunlight.
Amazing, thanks!
Glad you like it!
Thank you, I'll be doing that with my next purchase 👍
glad to be of help!
That's a great tip, thank you 🌻. Will it work with all similar potted herbs from the supermarket?
I'm going to look at other herbs and will let you know.
@@LearnHow2 thank you 🦋
I just tossed mine in dirt
Did they grow ok?
@@LearnHow2 Yes thank you not sure I will get lemons but it makes a nice plant.
these flowers are beautiful. So the first year we don’t see any flowers blooming. right now it’s the middle of July. I’m gonna plant them in pots and then move them into my backyard. Hopefully the end of August September will still be warm. And hopefully next year I’ll see some flowering. Thanks for the information.
It’s in her sleeve
Thank you!
Very Good❤
Thank you! 😊
Steam cleaner does a good job too.
Thank you. I didnt know that.
@@LearnHow2 For a small patch a steam cleaner is feasible. I did it with my wooden fence, and it looks as new. I did not use a brush at all. It got even cleaner after a few days of drying, and they wood was really dirty. The cleaner that I have is a small steam cleaner for home use, and it works great. But I did have to refill it a couple of times. Some folks do not have a pressure washer but they might have a steam cleaner. So that gives an extra option. I would not buy a steam cleaner for that purpose, but if you already have one then it is a good option to use it for algae removal. A pressure washer is quicker. A steam cleaner uses much less water and it is not destructive for most materials, but it takes more time to clean because the nozzle is small. And I think that the energy consumption is pretty much the same. For some folks, for example homesteaders who live off grid it can make sense to save on water and to use a steam cleaner instead.
Great video! Thank you😊❤
Thank you!
i don't see any tomatoes on that plant. i followed this video and wasted months wondering why my plant wasn't flowering. turns out store bought tomatoes are horrible for growing.
Best to buy organic
Sorry to hear that - I didnt know.
@@LearnHow2 yeah... to expand on why: they are not a 'heirloom' tomato. stores sell 'hybrid' tomatoes. hybrids are a combination of two varieties of tomato, typically one with good eating characteristics and one resistant to disease. the ones developed for commercial tomato growers are heavy bearers, and very resistant to the tomato diseases that are a problem where they are grown. that’s the advantage of hybrids. the disadvantage is, you can’t save seed. the seed does not grow and produce a plant like the one it came from. if it grows at all [many hybrids are sterile] it grows into a plant more like one of its grandparents. maybe with the potential to grow big yummy tomatoes, but so vulnerable to disease the plant will die before it really gets started at all. maybe it grows just fine, but produces a million tiny tomatoes just full of seeds. whatever it does, it won’t produce anything like the tomato you bought at the store.
So it is a scam just to sell copper tape.
You said it not me.!!!!!
Awesome. Thank you. You know if you cut up all of that dead foliage, and put it back on the garden bed, it will feed the soil.
Thank you for your tip!
Every creature has a purpose, or it wouldn't be here. This is more proof. I have the same thing going on in my yard and it's really quite fascinating. Thanks for the info, excellent video.
Thank you for your appreciation.
Thanks for that. I hope you get your money back.
I bought the tape purely to do the experiment so wont request a refund.
where is the battery you need for this to work
I have carried out many of these tests to determine if the copper tape stops slugs and snail. In the majority off times the slug will move over tape. In a small majority of occasion the tape will stop slugs. I think that if there is a very slight static charge on the tape there will be a rejection. I stop slugs by having two rows of tape and a 6V battery connection, using four AA cels in a holder. Positive to one tape and negative to the other tape. This is for use in a polytunnel or a greenhouse. I use a 600mm by 600mm cover. It keeps delicate plants slug free prior to planting im their final position on the garden 100% effective.
Thank you for your Information. I will repeat the test with a voltage applied across the two tapes.
@@LearnHow2 The slug will move over the first tape and be repelled when it touches the second tape.
@@LearnHow2 Have the tapes about 1cm apart. To make sure the smaller slugs contact both tapes.
I have a great number of Helix pomatia in my garden and noticed that they don't climb up anything painted with Falu Red, a traditional paint here in Sweden that ocntains iron oxide, copper and some zink. So I started painting everything, even pots with that paint and it works splendidly. It's enviromentaly safe and easy to boil yourself. It do rain off with time, but as ýou don't have to scrape off the old paint, it's easy to just apply another layer.
I have never heard of that. Thanks for sharing!
I only just found this video & this so far is the best & easiest method I've come across.
Thank you for your kind comment.
Ask them to do this wearing shorts and t shirts 😂😂😂
😂😂
In what month did you sow the plants and pot them on to their own pots
I sowed early March and potted on a couple of month later.
slugs are disgusting creatures , same as those bearded once
How??
Its magic!

Yes well spotted! It is Los Cristianos, Tenerife.
@@LearnHow2 Yeah...unreal!!!
When should the seeds be sown?
I sowed mine at the end of winter and planted outside late spring.
@@LearnHow2 thank you very much
just toss the seeds on the ground lol, I have tons
😂
Blossom end rot is caused by a lack of calcium in the soil.
From my research it is a lack of calcium in the fruit most often caused by irregular watering and only occasionally through lack of calcium in the soil. Thank you for your feedback.
Caused by a lack of calcium getting INTO THE FRUIT. It's an important distinction, because it can be caused by a calcium deficiency in the soil or impairment of the plant's ability to transport calcium from the ground to the fruit. Improper watering (particularly overwatering) is probably the most likely culprit relative to a lack of calcium. Sometimes adding additional calcium can help compensate for this issue, but not always.
@@thequantaleaper Thank you for your knowledgeable explanation.
Excellent video sir 👍 If I were to sow some seeds in early July is it best to plant them into position when they have grown large enough or keep them in pots over winter?
Once established outside they can be left year after year. For new young plants I would play it safe and keep them protected over winter then plant out early spring.
Thanks a lot for your reply, much appreciated👍
